The full story
What does your company do?
MOLIO is a business-oriented foundation that operates on market terms. Our mission is to make the construction industry more productive and more sustainable, and we pursue that mission across several different areas. At the core, we offer continuing education through courses, conferences, and professional training programs aimed at everyone working in and around construction.
Beyond education, we develop software tools that help the industry work smarter and more efficiently. We also run a conference centre and what is Denmark’s largest construction exhibition. It’s a broad scope, but it all connects back to the same purpose: improving productivity and sustainability across the entire construction value chain.
Our customers span the full spectrum of the industry. From small contracting companies to large engineering firms, we serve the whole chain. That breadth is deliberate: it’s written into our articles of association. We’re here for all of them.
What is the goal of your business?
Our goal is stated directly in our articles of association: we serve the entire construction industry. That means making sure every part of the value chain, regardless of company size or specialism, has access to the education, tools, and knowledge they need to work better and more sustainably.
We’re a foundation with a purpose, not a company chasing growth for its own sake. That distinction matters. It means our decisions are driven by what’s right for the industry, not by what maximises short-term revenue. Everything we build, organise, or offer ties back to that founding purpose.
In practice, that means constantly looking for new ways to help the people who build Denmark do their jobs more effectively. Whether that’s through a new software tool, a better course format, or simply making our support easier to access: it all serves the same mission.
Why did you choose Herodesk?
We ran a structured vendor evaluation and shortlisted five to eight providers: Danish, European, and international. We started with a clear set of requirements for what a support system needed to do for us, and that spec helped us cut the list down quickly. A few were filtered out immediately because they weren’t European, which mattered to us. We wanted to support something local where possible, and preferably something Danish.
Others were simply too expensive and clearly built for larger organisations than ours. We’re not a huge company, and we didn’t need an enterprise system with that level of complexity and cost. The pricing had to match our scale, and not all of them did.
What made Herodesk stand out was the combination of simplicity, fair pricing, and genuine forward potential. It was straightforward to use, it matched our size, and we could see a clear development path, particularly around AI capabilities. Being Danish-built sealed it. We found something local that actually did the job.
What is your favorite feature in Herodesk?
Simplicity. That might sound like a non-answer when people usually expect to hear about specific features or integrations, but it’s the honest one. When we sat down and asked ourselves what we valued most after going live, that’s what kept coming up.
Herodesk is simple for our support team to use every day. It’s simple for new support staff to get up to speed on without a long onboarding process. And it’s simple for our customers to interact with when they need help. That trifecta is harder to find than you’d think: a lot of systems get one or two of those right, but not all three.
The system also brings all our support channels into one place: email, social media, website inquiries, without making the interface feel cluttered or overwhelming. Everything is visible, everything is manageable. For a team our size, that kind of overview is exactly what we needed.
How does Herodesk make your daily life easier?
My colleagues in support are happier. That sounds simple, but it actually says everything. The interface is easier to work in than what we had before, and it shows in the day-to-day. I hear less frustration coming from the support team and more actual work getting done. That shift alone has been worth it.
A support system should really operate quietly in the background. If no one is talking about it, that’s the ideal state: it means it’s just working. That’s where we are now. The tool has moved out of the conversation because it’s no longer a problem. It’s just the thing we use to get things done.
The implementation process was also far smoother than expected. It’s not quite plug-and-play (there are always configurations and adjustments to account for), but compared to what we had before, it was remarkably straightforward. We set out to find something easy to implement, easy to operate, and easy for our customers to use. Herodesk delivered on all three.
